“On February 19, 2010 it will again be time: Under the programme of the 60th Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from the 11th till the 21st of February 2010, the world’s most important Queer Film Award will be presented in the scope of an “A” film festival (Berlin International Film Festival | Berli- nale) in a Gala Event followed by an After Party. The German-French TV channel, Arte will present the Europe-wide broadcast of the 24th TEDDY AWARD Gala, for the fifth year in a row, on February 20, 2010. The RBB (Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting) will repeat the broadcast on February 21, 2010.

For the first time, the Gala and After Party will be a stone’s throw away from Potsdamer Platz in the STATION BERLIN — the former Package-Post Train Station at Berlin Gleisdreieck. The TEDDY AWARD is presented in following categories: Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Best Short film, as well as the Special Teddy for artistic life’s work given to an outstanding personality. In the list of former award winners extents from international directors such as Pedro Almodóvar, Gus Van Sant and Derek Jarman, to international screen stars like Helmut Berger, Joe Dallesandro, John Hurt and Oscar winner Tilda Swinton.” © Teddy Award

The first annual Amsterdam Burlesque Festival will take place this November in a unique venue in Amsterdam West. The festival is the joint venture of Chaz Royal, organiser of London Burlesque Festival, and Miss Beeby Rose, one of Holland’s most popular burlesque performers. The Amsterdam Burlesque Festival will showcase top performers of classic striptease, circus sideshow and variety arts.

The four-night extravaganza will begin with an opening gala, featuring newcomers to the scene. The festival will also feature British burlesque stars, a local and international showcase, and workshops for burlesque starlets in the making. The first Amsterdam Burlesque Festival will conclude with an encore presentation and an official wrap party.

The festival takes place Thursday 19th November – Sunday 22nd November, 2009, at Casablanca Circus Tent in Amsterdam West. “We were looking for a nostalgic venue,” says Chaz Royal, “Casablanca Circus Tent reminded us of the early days when classic burlesque, circus sideshow and variety entertainment were presented under one roof.”

The idea behind the Amsterdam festival came after Miss Beeby Rose’s participation in Royal’s London Burlesque Festival, which has become a major event in the international burlesque calendar. “I wanted to introduce the international burlesque scene to my local stage and also expose local talent to an international audience,” says Beeby.

Over the last few years, burlesque has experienced a major revival and its latest incarnation, neo-burlesque, is taking over stages across the world. “Now is the perfect time to celebrate the different eras of the art form with veterans and newcomers alike,” says Chaz.

Another real highlight in the last 4 month.. o my god.. i don’t write anything in this blog for 4 month… thats a real mistake but i couldn’t change it. So …. another real highlight was the visit at the new Berlin Musical coming from Broadway named “The Producers”. I think many of the readers will know Mel Brooks sensational musical. I am invited for the premiere and i …. really …. love it.. i love love love love it, did i say that it was an amazing musical, so funny, so exciting, so detailful.. its a must see!!! If you visiting Berlin next 2 month go to the wonderful Admiralspalast and buy a ticket or two – its more than a queer insider tip.

Next… good eating.. no, that the wrong word for that… unbelievable flavourexplosions you can find at the Gendarmerie Berlin located at the Gendarmenmarkt Berlin Mitte. I never saw a bigger choice of perfect seafood in Berlin or around the world. I could take an amazing tasteful look in the new cuisine of Gendarmerie at the opening party and after celebrating more than 10 oysters, 2 lobsters and more i need to rest a moment and think about my shape … enjoy a trip to this restaurant. You will never forget it….

Wednesday last week – i was invited on Berlins newest Burlesque / Cabaret Entertainment brought to you by Else Edelstahl, the incentor of Berlins one and only Boheme Sauvage trip to the 20ties. Now she had a new baby, “La fete fatal” – same idea but new entertainment. First i will try to explain what kind of party it is… Last day i heard about many new burlesque entertainments in New York – and now we also have this great stuff in Berlin. There’s just one show with the same great entertainment character named The Rock’n'Roll Freak Burlesque Circus by Sandy Beach and the teaserettes… watch out for that too. Yesterday i am totally amused to see another highlight in Berlins nightlife culture “La fete Fatal”. Come and see these two parties if you stay here in germanys new burlesque metropolis.

First you have to visit the ultimate new Rocky Horror Musical at Admiralspalast. Bad, bizarre and bloody brilliant… the new Rocky Horror Show experience is a stunning party in the demure garden of Eden and a sensual crazy dance around the tree of the forbidden fruit with timeless classics such as “Sweet transvestite”, “Damn it janet” and of course, the “Time Warp”. Together with the creator Richard O’ Brien this musical is ready to enter the new century. Lets do the time warp again.

After having fun at Admiralspalast you should visit the biggest Club in Berlin – the Adagio to bring the horror on the dancefloor. Bob Young installed the Night of the Creatures halloween Party and last year i had so much fun at this event.

So I decided to be a vampire too on this night. It is located at the wonderful Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg… and we had the honour to be invited at the Grand Opening. A long straight bar and develish Tattoo-Artwork on the walls are the first things you can see if you enter the nightclub near Berlins most wonderful radio station. Rockstar Models are doin a great show and you will see Tattoo or other exhibitions in the near future.

At the new Titty Twister, dont mix it up with the Biker Bar in Berlin Rudow, you will meet Rock’n'Roll, Rockabilly, HardRock, Rock and Jack. You don’t know Jack? His family name is Daniels and you need it to survive a night at the vampires because vampires dont drink and drive *lol*

Coffee shops, bars and shops and also the take-away fast-food stores are decorated with rainbow flags. These location is one of the nicest locs ever, restored for 10 million euros and closed after a few weeks because of insolvency – the propaganda party is one the new parties after reopening the club. You get a good mix of electro and pop music on two dancefloors – and one of them is managed by Berlins wonderful dragqueens like Melli Magic, Barbie Breakout or Polla Desaster.. and sometimes ME
